C4c0ph0ny, or C4 for short

Bio: C4's tale is a strange and convoluted one. She was born in an alternate dimension that, on a quantum level, diverged from the more ordinary Paragon dimension with the possibility that the Rikti never invaded. As such, the history of her home dimension is nearly identical to Paragon's up until 2001 when the Rikti invaded the first time. C4 was already a Freak of the Freakshow by then, a lieutenant in Clamor's faction. As one of the few Freak factions with women in any leadership roles, C4 was typically over-the-top, constantly feeling the need to "prove" herself the equal... or better... of the various male Freak leaders. In her dimension, the invasion never unified public sentiment behind the idea of free-agent Heroes. In her dimension, the government cracked down on super-powered beings, forcing registration and either civil or military service. Those who refused joined the various criminal organizations.

C4's local Paragon version, also named Cacophony, had also been a Freak until captured and thrown into the Zig. Cacophony was later released and joined the Myrmidon Agency under Felicity Bane.

When the Myrmidon Agency was making trouble with the Praetorians and angering various covert government agencies, some shadowy forces decided to capture Cacophony and find a suitably violent and amoral replacement as a mole. They found C4c0ph0ny and made a deal with her. She had risen as high as she could go in her home dimension. She learned that in this dimension, her local version had betrayed and imprisoned Clamor, and she saw a power vacuum. Taking a few lieutenants with her, she allowed herself to be brought via portal here. Unfortunately, she was far too willful to be a willing patsy. She rapidly ignored her supposed agenda and began consolidating power within the Freaks. The MA saw through the ruse fairly quickly, and acting in concert managed to subdue the alternate version of their friend and deport her to her own dimension.

She spent two years in her dimension's Zig until Praetorian Jennifer Poe initiated a scheme to get revenge on Felicity and the MA for their assault on Tyrant. She broke C4 out of her dimension's zig, had Praetorian Doctor Anne Thompson completely retrofit C4's cybernetics, and brought her to this dimension's Rogue Isles as part of a Praetorian delegation to Lord Recluse. Again, C4's would-be manipulators did not take her willful nature into account. As soon as she was able, she broke her ties to her erstwhile Praetorian masters and began living in this dimension, alternating between the Rogue Isles and Paragon City. She helped Felicity Bane's task force during the second Rikti Invasion earning the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Ironically, this was the beginning of the end of her own freedom. Her association with Charlie put her on Arachnos' most-wanted list. Forced into deep hiding, she saw no way out but to leave this dimension and start over somewhere else.

Connections: C4's rather... convoluted past allows for any number of multi-dimensional contacts. She worked as a freelancer for a number of Arachnos operatives, most notably Grant Naylor in Primeva. He sent her on a number of interdimensional operations. She is good friends with Katherine Marcone, who runs Bamboo Kat's lounge and casino in St. Martial, as well as with "Charlie" (i.e. Jennifer Poe), the local version of the Praetorian who sprung her from the Zig. She has made her peace with Felicity Bane.
